Phil'sEmpire - Marble Blast Platinum

Hey everyone,

It’s been a long time since we gave you news and we hinted at some big ones coming. So here they are!

We own the MarbleBlast.com domain, which means we are going to re-create the website as a dedicated domain for Marble Blast. Besides forums, you will be able to read news, submit levels, download just about every mod and get a lot of useful information. There’s a lot more in it than meets the eye.
We’re going to create global accounts, meaning we’re going to join in your Leaderboards account (MBPlatinum) with your forums account, PhilsEmpire and any other mod that will support it (Fubar, PlatinumQuest are planned).
We will move a lot of data out of PhilsEmpire, and move our entire systems out to MarbleBlast.com. With some luck, we should be able to finish everything by this Summer, of 2013.

For much more information, check out MarbleBlast.com and look for the announcement about the new website.

Oh… and there are more big news coming in the next month, so stay tuned!

Thanks,
The Marble Blast Administration and the Platinum Team.

Hey there,

The last feature we are going to present came around the same time as the PhysMod. You will not believe just how hard it was to keep it a secret for over two and a half years.

This feature is self-explanatory and one of the biggest features in PlatinumQuest, so we’ll let you enjoy.

This concludes our PlatinumQuest Feature Spotlights. Coming up in a few months will be our second trailer.

Moving on,
The Platinum Team

Back in the early days of PlatinumQuest (2.5 years ago) we came up with a feature simply titled the ‘Physics Mod Trigger’, or PhysMod for short. When the marble enters this trigger, one or more physics values are modified, such as marble speed or the gravity settings. You can read more by clicking HERE and meanwhile go check out our video!

The PlatinumQuest Feature Spotlight will conclude with #5 in a few months. Stay tuned for it because it is one of our biggest gameplay features – we are very excited for you to see it! Like the PhysMod, it was one of the very first features in PlatinumQuest, and we consider it game-defining.

Stay relative,
The Platinum Team

Platinum Origins
May 29, 2012

Hey everyone,

Today we’d like to share with you a few announcements regarding Marble Blast Platinum.

We have now released MBP 1.20 revision 2 for Mac. While it does not add new features, this revision is designed to support installation of MBP using the newer MacGamesStore copy of Marble Blast Gold. If you already have Marble Blast Platinum installed, you do not to update to this revision. However, if you could not install the game and recently bought MBG from the MacGamesStore, please download this revision to be able to successfully install Marble Blast Platinum. Additionally, we fixed the level editor button, cleared out some console spam, and made a couple other small fixes that are listed in the Change Log.

1.20 for Windows was last indefinitely suspended, and now we can confirm it will not be released. Instead, we are working on a totally new version! A bucketload of fixes, new features, and changes to the Leaderboards system are all part of the plan. Mac users will also have fully-functional Leaderboards: a massive improvement. We are very excited to continue development of MBP while PlatinumQuest is still in the works.

All of these updates will be possible thanks to two new staff members for the Platinum team! We’d like to welcome Hi Guy and Jeff to the Marble Blast Platinum team and thank them for their hard work. As always, Seizure22 will continue as lead coder for PlatinumQuest, ensuring that its release will not be delayed due to development of MBP.

Keep on rollin’,
The Platinum team.

Take a deep breath and sink with us into the water as this is a gameplay-changer. It may assist you or hinder your progress and in some even send you Out of Bounds.

Watch our teaser video below and click HERE to see other levels that use it.

Keep on divin’,

In the next PlatinumQuest Feature Spotlight of course!

For some people the top times area on the leaderboards page was really messed up (blame the ancient HTML/php code), that should be fixed now. It also occurred within the user’s account page as well.

Let me know in the comments if either of these fixes aren’t the case – thanks!

Phil

Among the many new features available in PlatinumQuest, the Ice Shard stands as a cold-hearted hazard, ready to freeze any marbles that dare to touch it.

The Ice Shard is a simple yet effective hazard. Upon touching it, the marble will instantly be frozen, halted in its movement. While the marble stays frozen, the player can do nothing for a short while until the ice shatters, allowing control to be regained.

The Ice Shard is great to use in your snowy levels, unless you’re as cold as the Ice Shard and wish to use it anywhere.

Keep on freezin’,
The Platinum Team

Hey everyone,

Although we were planning on a trailer, we got just so excited about one of our main features we just had to share it with you. Today, we’ll reveal everything we have about the Cannon.

The cannon is fully featured and can be used to get the marble from one place to another in speed, or get to an otherwise unreachable spot. You can use the cannon in several different mechanisms which will be described later, and also select one of 3 preset powers, or your own.

As a level designer, you’ll find the cannon packed with many useful features and fully detailed documentation on how to set up your cannon to work and in many different conditions.

Matan and the Platinum team

Lately I haven’t had the interest to work on the next release of Marble Blast Platinum for Windows.
Sorry about this news, but hopefully you can bear with it. I won’t be making any more posts on the site after this, but hopefully we’ll continue to see progress updates from Matan and the rest of the Platinum team. :)
With the future of the site, it will stay ‘as-is’.

On another note, I forgot to mention that I added a new ‘Support’ button to the top menu of the site. Please use that if you have any questions or feedback about the game at those forums; don’t use here. You’ll be able to get a much quicker response over at the Marble Blast Forums.
