MBP Patch 1.14 – for Mac released!
Hey everyone!
The Mac version of MBP has now been updated to version 1.14, which includes several types of bugfixes. A detailed list can be found in the Changelog. A version will be uploaded onto the website soon. You can download the new patch below:
http://philsempire.com/?view=mbp&mbpview=download
There are a couple of known bugs in this version, which are listed below:
- Search function is broken
- Custom levels directory is grey-coloured instead of orange
Also, this version’s patch installer has been written by Joe Berria from Nexes Development. Consider sending a small donation for his hard work here.
Enjoy the new patch,
Phil, PF, Matan and the rest of the MBP Team.

I thought the deal was that you were going to release a full installer of every new version that came out AS WELL as a patch. Is this just not ready yet?
October 17th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
Not ready – the source for the last full installer is well, broken and I can’t just change the source files and redistribute for various reasons.

Anson: There is a patch and full installer.

Skye, the problem was, our developer for this installer decided to make the installer only OS X 10.5+, so he’s able to make use of some of the technologies and new features of the operating system.
We thought that most users would be using version 10.5 or higher. So I’m sorry, but I think the installer for the next version (most likely 1.15) will be written with the original programming language and should support any version of OS X

If you’re still on powerpc… c’mon dude get a new mac, lol. If intel, snow leopard is only $30 you know..

And Skye, you can grab all the files from the patch’s package contents, in the MBP folder. You’ll need to manually copy/paste the files for it to work (don’t just copy and paste the marble and common folders because they only include changed files, not everything).

@ Mac Guy
I MEANT a full installer for 1.14. So that new users don’t have to install twice; a real good way to lose new players in the making.
I personally like to install from the full installer every time there’s an update instead of patching.
I know, call me weird and all, but that’s just me.

Nice to see it out (uber late reply ftw), just checked the site. I dunno whatsup with the 1.14 Mac bugs, they do not appear in the windows build at all. I always test windows in different methods to ensure that everything changed as needed and since the bugs aforementioned did not appear, I have no idea why the Mac build expresses them.
And god it took ages to get 1.14 for Mac out. Seriously kudos for PF and the programmer he found to get something good up. Interesting to know quite a few users still use 10.4 but AFAIK nothing we can do atm.
Next patch? very slowly in the making
Phil: Why isn’t 1.14 in the changelog? I asked Ben just before Windows’ build was out to add 1.14 notes and he said he’ll do it immediately, yet since then it never was added.

Matan, changelog’s uploaded now

I have MBG 1.5.4 from GG.com, but the installer is not working. It keeps crashing on me. Am I missing something?
November 4th, 2009 at 8:22 pm
This is a patch installer, full installer is coming soon. Are you using the full installer? Does it crash right when you hit install? If you are trying to use the patch (it should at least not crash, MBP just won’t work right) and it crashes- can you check in the console to see the error message?

There’s a good chance that your downloaded file could have been corrupt – “codec overrun” sounds like a fairly odd error. Sorry, but my best advice would be to redownload the mod again.
Tell me if you still get the same problem after trying that. Maybe this thread at macosxhints.com could have an answer to your problem: http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-25005.html

[edited out crash dump log by admin]

Hey, I’ve edited out that error log as it was taking up way too much space on this page, plus I don’t need to know the how the game has crashed to that extent.
The problem could either be:
- the version of the game bundled with Apple’s older iMacs/iBooks doesn’t work
- the fact that Mac OS X 10.6.4 is known to have video driver problems
- something went wrong in the installation
You could try http://marbleblast.com and asking a question there.
